Jack and Ma are rushed into the police station past a crowd of reporters. A police captain takes a statement from Ma. A woman comes in to give the police captain a message and stares at Ma feeding Jack, which annoys her.
Jack fi nds it diffi cult to deal with everything in the outside world. He is frightened by the automatic fl ushing toilet and amazed when Ma throws his dirty underwear in the bin. She says they can get new clothes whenever they want.
