WALT: Examine and use commas.


A comma is a punctuation mark that shows that a pause is needed in a sentence. Commas can also be used to separate items in a series of three or more items.


Example: I need an egg, vinegar and a jar for this experiment.


A Let’s separate things! Add commas to the following sentences. 1. We had tofu noodles and green beans for dinner.


2. There were jars bottles and bowls on the table. 3. After dancing I will do my homework have a bath and go to bed. 4. Purple yellow orange and green are the colours of the rainbow eggs. 5. The salad had quail eggs rocket peppers and onion in it.


6. Dad has to drop Tom to school go to the pharmacy buy some bread and cook the dinner.


7. Tracksuit days are Monday and Friday. Uniform days are Tuesday Wednesday and Thursday.


8. Eddie likes to play with dinosaurs squishies and mini cars.
