The 6th ICIS & ELGI Industrial Lubricants Conference

Running for the 6th year, the ICIS & ELGI Industrial Lubricants Conference brings technical and commercial insight to the full lubricants supply chain. This year’s agenda focuses on innovative formulation to give attendees a deeper understanding of the latest trends and challenges impacting lubricant performance, such as sustainability, regulations and changing lubricant requirements for end-uses.

With a specific focus on the industrial sector, this is a key event for those in the lubricants industry looking to meet with like-minded peers and hear the latest developments in their field.

New speakers this year include UKLA’s own David Wright, speaking on the future outlook of REACH after Brexit. During his session on Day 1, David will cover how Brexit will affect chemicals registered under REACH, explore how chemicals transported between the EU and Britain will be affected, and assess the impact on the European market of a decline in registered chemicals.

Other speakers include Atlas Copco, Bosch Rexroth, Croda, Nestlé, DNV GL, BASF, BP, Lubrizol, and Total.

Key features of this event will be a Roundtable discussion on pressing challenges to lubricant end-applications, a half-day Metalworking Fluids Seminar analysing the key challenges for metalworking fluid formulators, and the attendance from base oil producers, lubricant blenders, additive manufacturers, traders and more.

We look forward to seeing you at the European event in June. Take advantage of the group booking discount by registering as a group of 2 or more delegates from the same company at the same time, and save up to 10% off the registration fee.

The 13th ICIS Asian Base Oils & Lubricants Conference, Singapore Matthew Chong & Hannah Mahoney, ICIS

The Asian base oils landscape will be seeing crucial developments in the form of upcoming expansions across the region in 2019, with China leading the way with a handful of Group II and III capacities that have already started up, or are due to come on stream in the latter half of the year.

Chemical giant ExxonMobil also made a final investment decision (FID) in April on a “multi-billion dollar” investment in expanding its integrated manufacturing complex in Singapore whereby it is expected to add one million tonnes of Group II base oils capacity in 2023.

This June in Singapore, you can hear from both ICIS and ExxonMobil, amongst others, on China market dynamics and the impact of additional global capacities of Group II on Asia, respectively. Across the globe, overcapacity will also likely intensify the competition for market share in Asia, including India, between refiners from various regions in

Northeast and Southeast Asia, the Middle East as well as Europe.

Globally, economic uncertainties stemming from escalating US-China trade tensions, the upcoming International Maritime Organisation (IMO) 2020 regulations on the sulphur content cap, and overall slowing lubricant demand growth are some of the challenges the industry will be facing going forward. With so much happening across the region affecting the base oils and finished lubricants industries, it is vital for those involved to come together to discuss these challenges and solutions moving forward. Join Asia’s leading networking and knowledge platform, the 13th ICIS Asian Base Oils and Lubricants Conference on the 25-27 June in Singapore, to further your business across the region.
