Communication skills are important in this role, we do a lot of talking! Resilience would be another one as recruitment as an industry is unpredict- able. That unpredictability is also what makes each day different so having a positive and proactive outlook is also a good thing to have.
5 What advice would you give to those
looking to work in the industry? Make sure you do your research. If you aren’t sure which direction you want to go in or what type of role will suit you, spend some time interning at publishing houses in order to build up your knowledge and your network. There is a lot of industry information out there now and many industry events where you can meet people.
