1 Describe your role. My role is to find


candidates’ strengths and match them to the right roles. Since I work on behalf of publishers, I also play a role in representing these organisations to prospective employees. As we meet all the candidates we represent, there is also the opportunity to provide career advice.

looking to work in the industry? The junior publishing market is very competitive so, for graduates, building up your publishing experience will help. For experienced candidates, if you are seeking to change field, look at your transferable skills and see which job function matches your skills best. Keep learning and build up your connections. Also, be patient and wait for the right one to come along.

You will be working across an exciting range of fiction and non-fiction, providing administrative support to two busy Rights agents and handling some co-agented territories depending on experience. Our ideal candidate will have worked in Translation Rights


for around a year, be extremely well organised and able to effectively prioritise their work. They will be confident around contracts, have great communication skills and the ability to pitch titles at Book Fairs.
