Founder, TAG Literary Experiences

TAG Literary Experiences may have only launched in 2014, but it is now one of the biggest subscription book clubs in the world

How did you go about building a community of readers? Well, you can “blame” our subscribers for that: they asked us to create a group on Facebook so they could talk to each other, but we didn’t want to. We thought nobody would actually talk about books. But they insisted so much that we gave in. Suddenly, thousands of people from all over Brazil were discussing the books that we had sent them; then they were talking on WhatsApp and seting up meetings in their cities. That’s why we developed a mobile app, where people can rate and discuss books, as well as organise meetings. In the past year, there were more than 400 such events.

What comes with the subscription box, and how much does it cost? There are two. TAG Curatorship is our premium box: subscribers receive a hardcover edition
