Nicholls is one place ahead of Freida McFadden, who takes third place in the MMF chart – and sixth place in the TCM – with sales of 11,347. Originally published in e-book in 2021, sales of Do Not Disturb are down a considerable 54% compared with the first week of The Tenant – McFadden’s newest thriller, published in May this year. Julie Soto’s Rose in Chains is
fourth in the TCM – and the third- biggest new release of the week – thanks to its inclusion in the latest FairyLoot romantasy subscription box. With sales of 15,990 copies, it is at the front of a queue of six new hardbacks at the top of the Original Fiction chart and is just under 4,000 units ahead of Lisa Jewell’s latest thriller, Don’t Let Him In. Jewell has sold 12,051 books in
hardback – the first time the author’s single-week sales have topped five digits in that format – and is up 455.1% against Jewell’s previous hardback, Breaking the Dark. That title, however, was a Marvel Comics tie-in and appeal- ing to a more niche audience, selling just 2,173 copies when it was

place in the TCM Top 50 to find the bestselling Non-Fiction title of the week in Chloe Dalton’s Raising Hare, which has fallen 16 places following a 27.4% drop in sales. However, with 4,563 copies sold in the latest data from NielsenIQ, Dalton manages to keep hold of the Paperback Non-Fiction number one – ahead of Raynor Winn’s The Salt Path, which stays in second place, despite sales
declining 11.6%. It should be noted, however, that this decline comes from a period before the recent allegations – disputed by Winn – in the Observer. Steven Bartlett’s The Diary of a
CEO has debuted in fourth place, with sales of 3,581 units in paper- back, nearly two years after the original hardback publication. Mel and Sawyer Robbins’
The Let Them Theory remains atop the Hardback Non-Fiction chart for the second week on the trot, with 3,804 copies sold in the past seven days – a 29.7% drop in sales compared with the previous week. The biggest new release here is The Last Days of Marilyn Monroe by James Patterson and Imogen Edwards-Jones, which debuts with 1,308 copies. Sales across the total TCM have
risen 6.9% to 3.2 million books sold this week, with value also rising 7.2% to £30.1m. Compared with the same week in 2024, however, volume has fallen 7% with value dropping 4%.
