Senior Editor, Ebury (12-month FTC) Penguin Random House
We are looking for an experienced non-fiction, illustrated book editor to join the team at Ebury to work across some of our biggest, bestselling talent published by the Food and Lifestyle Hubs. This role is offered on a 12-month fixed-term contract from early July 2025, covering a period of parental leave in the team. The successful candidate will have experience of taking full-colour non-fiction books through the publishing cycle, demonstrable awareness of and engagement with the food and lifestyle markets, as well as experience of managing multiple projects at once.

You will play a key role in acquiring and developing high-quality romance and saga fiction with strong bestseller potential. In this role, you will actively seek out and acquire talent, working closely with literary agents and authors. You should have a deep knowledge of the romance and saga fiction market, including current trends and reader demographics, as you will identify and evaluate manuscripts with strong commercial potential.

We are looking for a seasoned leader who can develop and implement a comprehensive strategy for our cross-genre fiction list, while setting and maintaining a high editorial standard. You will have a keen eye for talent and a passion for discovering new voices, and be able to build and maintain relationships with authors, agents, freelancers and other industry professionals. There is also the opportunity for hands-on editing, as you will manage book projects from conception through to print.
