He joined the company with a background in finance and in 2010 was asked by its owner, Bonnier AB in Sweden, to “hold the fort” as c.e.o. while it found somebody “who knew something about books”. Under Richard’s leader- ship, the group has built a repu- tation for challenging the status quo and for thinking differently.
