Universal NVG Battery Mount Solves Long-standing Flight Helmet Issue

Aviation flight helmet and gear maker Evolution “EVO” Helmets has engineered a new NVG battery mount designed to solve a problem that flight crews have dealt with for years: loose or incompatible battery pack mounts on flight helmets.

Standard NVG battery pack slots vary widely across models, often resulting in unstable fits or battery packs that won’t lock in at all. The new Universal NVG Battery Mount addresses this directly with an adjustable locking mechanism that ensures a secure fit with any NVG battery pack on any flight helmet brand.

Machined from aircraft-grade aluminum, the mount is rugged, reliable, and proudly made in the USA.

“When we couldn’t find a solution that worked, we made one,” said Ron Abbott, founder of Evolution Helmets & Helicopter Helmet. “Flight safety is everything and every component matters.”

For nearly a decade, HeliLadder has been leading the industry with its modular MX5+ ladder and MXPS workstand system, improving fall protection and reducing maintenance inefficiencies for a multitude of program and aircraft types. Safety features such as closed-loop handrails, extra wide rungs, and a reliable, ergonomic design have now been passed on to their latest product line: the HeliLadder L-Series. This fixed-length, lightweight, cantilevered ladder is designed specifically for rotorhead access on Robinson aircraft, as well as aircraft with external tanks and restrictive landing gear attachments.

“I don’t know how we worked on these helicopters for so long without this! Being able to stand firmly at the top makes inspections and repairs around the hub area so much easier. The only safety concern I have is the guys fighting over who gets to use it next.”
