Hampshire care home celebrates 20th anniversary


Marie Louise House in Romsey, Hampshire has celebrated its 20th year with a special event bringing together residents, families, staff, and members of the community. Among the guests at the Healthcare Management Trust home was Councillor Gordon Bailey, Mayor of Test Valley. Special gifts were presented to staff members who have shown dedication and ambition in making the care home special to all, including Mair Williams, executive director of community and complex care at HMT. Marie Louise House provides nursing and respite care as well as specialist care for people with dementia. Amy Francis, activities coordinator at Marie Louise House, said: “It was so lovely seeing everyone come together to make this special occasion. It means so much to us all here to have such support from the community and families of our residents. It’s moments like this which make this job feel so rewarding.”


Sensory garden opens at Wrexham nursing home

We have come so far over the years, and coming together to mark this celebration is a testament to the hard work of the whole team. We have built something very special here. Personally, I am proud and grateful to be part of something so magical.”


Devon care home sold to first-time buyer


Wrexham, Cllr Tina Mannering, alongside Kerry Evans, disability liaison officer from Wrexham Association Football Club. Masterminded by Chirk Court’s manager, Jane Humphreys, the garden will provide a safe, stimulating outdoor environment, where colour, scent, sound, and texture combine to support wellbeing, memory, and relaxation. From accessible pathways, wind chimes and running water, to fragrant blooms, eye-catching features, and raised beds ideal for wheelchair users, every element has been carefully considered to create a fully inclusive, relaxing space. Christie & Co has announced the sale of The Red House – a 25-bed care home in Yelverton, Devon.


The home has been sold on behalf of Paul


Ewer of Crocus Care as part of his plans to retire from the sector. Following a confidential sales process with Simon Harvey at Christie & Co, it has been sold to first-time buyer, Ollie Page. Simon Harvey, senior director – Care at Christie & Co, said: “Having been involved with Paul since selling him one of his first care homes in 2001, I was delighted to have been chosen to act on his behalf in the sale of The Red House and to have achieved a successful outcome. I’m equally pleased for Ollie as knowing how hard the first acquisition can be, it is always positive to see another new entrant acquiring a care home in Devon and I wish him

My primary commitment is maintaining and building upon the quality of care that Red House has built its reputation on over the past 20 years under Paul’s stewardship. With my background in the technology sector, my focus will be on using technology to free up and enable our staff to spend more quality time with residents, building meaningful relationships and providing genuinely personalised care. By upgrading the back office, we can ensure that human connection in the front of house remains at the heart of what we do at Red House.”
