Speaker highlights With an impressive line-up of over 130 speakers for this year’s show, here are some of the highlights: n Professor Vic Rayner – Primarily the CEO of National Care Forum, Vic also chairs the government’s national workforce advisory group and the National Social Care Advisory Group on social care and technology, and has been at the forefront of promoting digital transformation across care. She sits on a range of government and national specialist groups with a focus on the social care workforce, digital transformation, new models of care and regulation. Vic is the incoming chair of the Global Ageing Network and has worked extensively with international partners on key areas of innovation and change. In addition, she was awarded an Hon. Professorship in Health Sciences by City University, working closely with the My Home Life programme and the wider university agenda around ageing and care. She was awarded an OBE for services to social care in 2021.
n Professor Oonagh Smyth – Oonagh Smyth is CEO of Skills for Care, which is the workforce development charity for adult social care in England. She has extensive experience working with organisations across the social care sector and prior to starting at Skills for Care in 2020, Oonagh was the executive director of strategy and influence in Mencap. n Nadra Ahmed – National Care Association (NCA) chair since 2001 and a trustee of Royal British Legion Industries and governor at Canterbury Christchurch University, Nadra is also the co-convenor of the Cavendish Coalition, formed to work with the NHS and Unison to support workforce issues in Health and Social Care pre-Brexit. In September 2023 Nadra was appointed to the Board of Common Age, working internationally. Other roles include being the patron of Rockdale Housing supporting older citizens through a pathway of care and support, vice patron of Kent Autistic Society, and a trustee of Spadework, a charity to support younger adults with learning disabilities
