2. The Operating Theatres Conference


Rob Brothwood will be chairing The Operating Theatre Conference, alongside Helen Brothwood. Both graduated as ODPs in 2005. Rob has since gone on to become the first and only ODP (up


to now) to be offered a place on NHS England’s Clinical Entrepreneur programme. Rob has also co-invented the world’s first single patient, adhesive, universal airway securing device, called LEAFix. Helen has a passion and talent for education and teaching. Helen has held clinical education roles since 2018. She became the lead resuscitation officer, in 2021 and regularly teaches on courses such as Advanced Life Support and the General Instructors’ course. This year, Rob has many excellent speakers over the two days, discussing everything from ship- based operating theatres to paediatric TIVA and depth of anaesthesia monitoring. Subjects being presented on Day 1 include:
