in the National Health Service (NHS) and the largest Teaching Hospital Trust in Europe are based in the region, alongside Europe’s first AI command centre in a Hospital Trust. Our universities produce over 35,000 graduates
each year and our world leading research institutes are driving forward artificial intelligence, health informatics and data, medical devices and diagnostics. This all feeds into one of the UK’s leading
Health and Life Sciences ecosystems, and one that companies worldwide look to for innovative and high- quality goods and services. Be it medical devices driving changes in the
treatment of cancer, diagnostics reducing the waiting times for critical services or artificial intelligence models that are detecting disease from MRI images.
DUB AI 2025 Our businesses are exporting globally – with
trading links to the US, Canada, UAE, India, the Nordics, Germany, Switzerland, and more. Paxman Scalp Cooling, an award-winning medical
device company based in Kirklees, has established a global footprint, exporting to 60 markets. The region is also home to Johnson & Johnson’s global orthopaedic R&D hub and manufacturing. Our region provides the best landing space for
international investors – with an ecosystem primed to support businesses to navigate the NHS, support on regulation, and routes to market. Global companies engage with the region to help
