Case Studies Scottish Enterprise provides funding to Össur to develop new prosthetic products Össur is a leading global provider of innovative mobility solutions. The company received research and development support of £400,000 from Scottish Enterprise towards its new £2 Million project which will support partial hand technologies and enable the development of a new upper limb device at it’s Touch Bionics facility in Livingston near Edinburgh.


Planet DDS: Dental software company brings £10 million investment to Glasgow Planet DDS’s artificial intelligence and data management applications allow dental practices to transition to a completely digital approach. Planet DDS chose Scotland to locate its technology and development centre. Scottish Enterprise worked closely with the company to create a package of support which included a grant of £985,000 as a contribution towards the company’s £10.4 Million investment in its Scottish operations. Scottish Enterprise is a key part of this


collaborative ecosystem, working with the Life Sciences Sector Industry Leadership Group (ILG) and Scottish Government to develop and support the implementation of the life sciences sector strategy. We do this by aligning our support with the key priority areas: n Digital and data. n Skills. n Infrastructure.
