IPS AND CLADDING SOLUTIONS


BioClad recently put its BioPod product through ‘R&D day testing’ at the BRE’s Watford campus prior to full testing planned for later in the year.


BioClad and other associated members of the group are all committed to environmental sustainability, and the reduction of our carbon footprint through implementation of our Carbon Management Plan. The Plan, which covers the period from today until 2028, makes a commitment to reduce carbon emissions by recycling materials and implementing increased efficiency in the use of energy. It stipulates that new and existing initiatives will be encouraged to incorporate elements of sustainability, and that BioClad will endeavour to implement and acquire support for sustainable development. BioClad can provide examples of this


approach by ensuring that we work in line with the following aspects: n Research PVC and its negative impacts for the environment.


n Ensure that awareness of environmental impacts regarding PVC are monitored correctly.


n Regularly review our strategy for waste and disposal minimisation so that everyone recognises and takes responsibility for individual use of products.


n Encourage all personnel to reuse, recycle, and recover, wherever possible.


n Continue to promote an ‘eco-friendly’ ethos across the company.


n Promote purchase of fair-trade products where appropriate.


n Encourage an environmentally friendly purchase strategy. BioClad is committed to minimising carbon emissions from our company by exercising appropriate control and progressive management over our


operations and actions, as outlined in our Carbon Management Plan.


Wall protection systems The wall protection systems offered by BioClad are used to safeguard walls and surfaces from damage caused by various factors – such as impact, abrasion, moisture, and general damage. The systems are commonly found in commercial and healthcare facilities, but can also be utilised in other areas. The more common types of wall protection systems installed by BioClad include the following: n Corner guards: Installed on the corner of walls to prevent accidental damage.


n Wall guards: Mounted at waist height to protect walls from impact by trolleys.


n Handrail: Provide support to individuals and also to protect walls from scuffs and dents.


n Rub and chair rails: To protect against chair backs and other furniture damage.


n Sheeting material: Embossed PVC sheets to protect entire walls.


n Bedhead protectors: Installed behind the beds for protection.

Alan Green


Having worked as a fabricator welder for 20 years, Alan Green moved into the Contracts office at SAS International, a major metal ceiling manufacturer, as a Contracts manager. However, in 2012 his potential as a Sales manager was recognised by the then MD, initiating his sales career. In 2021, Alan came to BioClad as the UK Specifications manager, and enjoyed the role for a while. However, the Managing Director decided that she wanted to bring the manufacturing of the IPS units ‘in house’, and asked Alan to sidestep into a more design-based role. He spent the next year designing and producing the IPS units that are manufactured in BioClad’s Harrogate factory. Once it was fully operational, he was promoted to Projects Director.
