Changes are also being driven by the sustainability agenda, and the current NHS drive towards Net Zero, with elements such as LED lighting helping not only to brighten environments, provide greater longevity than older lighting technologies, and cut carbon, but also reducing overhead costs at a time when making economies is key. There is also the critical consideration
that this is public money that is being spent. When we undertake these projects, we must carefully consider our delivery programme against cost expectations, while placing ourselves in the shoes of patients and staff that utilise these facilities. Any work completed must be undertaken to the highest standards, on time and on budget, or risk reputational damage both for ourselves and the public authority client.
Setting regional standards Improvements to local authority- funded healthcare practices also have an impact across local authorities and their communities.
