TRAINING AND DEVELOPMENT Tomorrow’s Engineers

these disciplines. Showcasing the pathways into a career in engineering, the range of opportunities available, and the positive, real-world impact these roles have on society and the environment, promotes broader thinking about potential career choices. Delivery of authentic content shaped around specialist areas of knowledge and expertise, with information on growth, salaries, responsibilities, workforce diversity, and ethical considerations, should all be considered to effectively deliver this pledge.

The established and extensive nature of future engineering and technology

workforce challenges mean that it is too great to be resolved by any one individual or organisation. The pledges which comprise the Tomorrow’s Engineers Code are intended to support member organisations’ structure and planning in their STEM outreach, and build a community who, together, can continue to learn, develop, share, and adapt both an individual, and collective, strategy which will see maximum impact on the engagement with, and decisions made by, young people around their chosen careers. The Institute is proud to be joining a

movement which looks to the future, and re-thinks the way it approaches strategy to

engage and inspire a broader talent pool, and improve access for all young people considering a career in technology and engineering. By harnessing the power of community and joined-up thinking, IHEEM will continue to expand and refine its own STEM strategy, evaluate its processes to inform future planning, and share its specialised knowledge and experience with the peer organisations that make up this vibrant, dedicated community of change- makers.
