Impressive speaker line-up set for Healthcare Estates
The programme for the IHEEM Healthcare Estates 2023 Conference is now fully published and ‘live’ on the event website,
www.healthcare-estates.com. Healthcare Estates takes place at Manchester Central from 10-11 October 2023. The programme features over 50 speakers across the event’s two days. IHEEM CEO, Pete Sellars, said: “I am looking forward to returning to our flagship event in Manchester, and to meeting many of our members, affiliates, and IHEEM supporters. Our packed conference programme and larger exhibition space once again demonstrate that Healthcare Estates is the leading event for the healthcare engineering and estates management sector.” Headlining the Conference will be Jacqui
Rock, Chief Commercial Officer, NHS England, who will close the first day’s proceedings with a keynote presentation entitled ‘Delivering the Long Term Plan and Transforming the NHS for the Future’. The rest of the programme is organised
around five themes, ‘reflecting key challenges affecting the healthcare estates and facilities sector’. These are: n Implementing Digital Technology & Innovation into the Healthcare Estate.
n Governance, Assurance & Compliance of the Healthcare Estates & Infrastructure.
n Health & Social Care Planning. n Healthcare Engineering & Medical Engineering.
n Operational Delivery of the Healthcare Estate. IHEEM explained: “Each theme has a related keynote speech from one or more of the stellar line-up of sector leaders.” These include: n Professor Billy Hare, Deputy Director, BEAM Research Centre, School of Computing & Built Environment, Glasgow Caledonian University.
n Professor Grant Mills, Professor of Healthcare Infrastructure Delivery and Faculty Lead for Health at the Bartlett School of Sustainable Construction, University College London.
n Simon Corben, Director and Head of Profession, NHS Estates and Facilities – NHS England Commercial Directorate.
n Julie Critchley, Director of NHS Scotland Assure, Procurement Commissioning and Facilities – NHS National Services Scotland.
n Stuart Douglas, Director, Specialist Estates Services – NHS Wales SSP.
n Natalie Forrest, Senior Responsible Owner – New Hospital Programme.
n Matt Ward, National Strategy Lead, NHS England Commercial Directorate.
n Dr Manjula Meda, Consultant Clinical Microbiologist and Infection Control Doctor – Frimley Health NHS Foundation Trust.
n Professor Catherine Noakes, Professor of Environmental Engineering for Buildings – University of Leeds.

All other presentations in the programme have been extended, enabling more in- depth coverage of the subject matter. Each morning and afternoon of the conference, delegates will be able to choose between hour-long blocks of content on each of the five themes, each featuring two presentations and a 10-minute panel Q&A session to close the hour. Contributions to the Conference
feature content from a wide range of public sector, commercial, and academic bodies, including: eight NHS Trusts; NHS Property Services; NHS England; ProCure Partnerships Framework; Health and Safety Investigation Branch; New Hospital Programme; the University of Leeds, and the University of Cambridge.
