Registration opens for expo in Frankfurt

Visitors to Compounding & Recycling Expo, taking place on 23–24 September 2026 at Messe Frankfurt, Germany, can now register for the event online. The free-to-attend

exhibition showcases the growing overlap between polymer compounding and recycling, bringing the full value chain together for two days of innovation, collabo- ration and technical insights. Attendees also gain free entry to two focused conference theatres offering expert-led sessions on market trends, technical developments, innovative applications, and Europe’s evolving regulatory land- scape. The organiser AMI (which publishes Plastics Recycling World) said that the event offers a unique platform for the industry to explore the future of polymer perfor- mance, sustainability and circularity. The exhibition will showcase cutting-edge solutions from leading

suppliers of compounding machinery, raw materials, additives, recycling technol- ogy, and testing equipment. Exhibitors already con- firmed include Wacker, BASF, Sun Chemical, SI Group, JSW, Hosokawa Alpine, Farrel Pomini, Van Werven, Maag, Invista, Orion, Gneuss, Theysohn and many more. “We recognise that the

futures of compounding and recycling are closely interconnected,” said Andy Beevers, Events Director at AMI. “Our team has worked closely with the industry to understand its evolving

needs, and this expo is the result; the only platform in Europe that truly reflects the importance of this shared direction. We’ve created an unmissable opportunity for the entire supply chain to come together, collaborate, and drive the next genera- tion of materials forward.” Frankfurt is an ideal host

city, said AMI, as Germany is the continent’s largest plastics market and a global leader in materials science and recycling develop- ments. With its global transport connections, the location is an ideal meeting point, said AMI.

Erema and Arvind Mehta Technology & Entrepre- neurship Centre (AMTEC) of the All India Plastics Manufacturers Association (AIPMA) have signed a Memorandum of Under- standing (MoU) marking the launch of a new Recycling Skill Centre in Mumbai. The centre will help meet growing demand for qualified professionals in India’s plastic recycling sector over the long term and will be established by the end of May. At the core of the

program is a 72-hour training course combining

theoretical foundation

with practical, hands-on instruction. To support the training

operations, Erema is providing, free of charge, an Intarema 605 TE recycling machine with a capacity of 50-100 kg/h, enabling participants to learn under real world conditions. www.erema.com www.amtecedu.org

New funding in Netherlands program

Circular Plastics NL and the Nether- lands Enterprise Agency have made €40m funding available as part of the CPNL 2026 open call for partnerships working on innovation and upscaling in the recycling and circularity of plastics. The program distinguishes between two types of projects and is classified under eight topics. Research projects focus on the research and develop-

ment of processes, methodologies, and techniques related to new packag- ing designs that make it easier to recycle after use and recovery of plastic from waste streams that is currently being incinerated (not including packaging). Showcases are designed to identify and eliminate bottlenecks in the value chain of a material flow within a

This includes technol- ogy that enables the transition from manual to automated, high-quality sorting of textile waste, pre-processing of mixed plastic waste, new or im- proved techniques for the mechanical recycling of plastic waste, dissolution, depolymerisation, and devulcanisation or decrosslinking. https://circularplasticsnl.org
