ENERGY MANAGEMENT | MACHINERY

Here, a thermal cup will be made from a ther- mally sensitive, bio-based copolyester. This is a good example of a solution tailored to the process: cooling of the mould and feed zone is handled by a Teco CW 25 cold water temperature control unit using propane (R290) as the refrigerant. Precise mould temperature control is provided by two Teco CI Eco units equipped with the Pump Efficiency Module (PEM) – a speed control system that adjusts energy consumption to demand. “Our core competence lies in understanding the specific challenges of our customers and develop- ing tailored, cost-effective solutions,” said Nicolai Küls, managing director of Technotrans Solutions. Precise temperature control is needed to

process the demanding material reliably, to ensure high component quality and minimise waste. Central control of all components is managed via the injection moulding machine using OPC UA. It will also showcase its KWS chillers, which

operate with propane (R290) – helping users to produce in a legally compliant manner regarding tightening F-Gas regulations. The KWS series is also available as an efficient

heat pump, enabling active use of waste heat for heating processes. Here, Technotrans analyses the entire energy balance and designs a customised system. This may include the integration of free coolers to achieve energy

savings during cooler months, or the use of process waste heat to heat buildings – replacing fossil fuels and further reducing operating costs.

Lower power Fanuc will showcase its latest Roboshot injection moulding machines at K2025, saying their benefits include faster operating speeds, more injection unit combinations, new energy-saving features and smart AI functionality. New energy management features enable lower power consumption. For example, a new plasticis- ing energy monitor contributes to savings through better energy balance in heat transfer, shear and energy loss – while an eco-temperature adjustment function also supports reduced energy use, says the company. In further efforts to minimise running costs, the machines include a special service package that covers maintenance and repairs for up to eight years.
