force of 500t and a 1 + 2 + 2-cavity family mould, first produces the five individual PP parts in a cycle time of 32s. A Multilift V 40 linear robotic system with a load capacity of 40kg then removes all moulded parts simultaneously and positions them in a separate assembly station. The ready-to-use folding crate is then placed on a conveyor belt by the Multilift V 40. In the medical arena, Arburg is showcasing the
modular Allrounder machine’s ability to be used in various clean room set-ups. An Allrounder 370 E Golden Electric with a 2-cavity mould from Wellmei will produce Y connectors for intravenous drip therapy. The moulded parts made from PC are removed and set down by a Multilift Select linear robotic system. Highlighting electronics applica- tions, an Allrounder 420 C Golden Edition is producing flexible LSR cases for the iPhone 8. The mould is provided by Prover, while the LSR dosing unit comes from 2 KM. A Multilift Select linear robotic system performs the handling tasks. Boy is presenting its XXS and 25E machines at Chinaplas as evidence of its technical abilities in the field of smaller injection moulding machines. The company will make PP watch cases on the Boy 25E with 25t clamping force on the stand of one of its Chinese representative companies Andeli. Wolfgang Schmidt, Boy Export Manager, says: “With the two compact injection moulding ma- chines, we have ‘two hot irons in the fire’ for the Chinese market. China is and will remain one of the most important markets for Boy. The high growth rates of the last few years have shown that we are well positioned for the Chinese market with both, our products and the services of our local agencies Andeli and Trillion.” Wittmann Battenfeld will present two machines
In a two-component demonstration, a MicroPo- wer 15/10H/10H will produce a sensor component for a medical measuring instrument using a 4-cavity mould supplied by Wittner based in Austria. The thin, spherical TPE membrane serves to measure a specific pressure inside the measuring device. The parts will be processed in a clean-room environ- ment which is created by using a laminar flow box inside the machine. They will be removed by a W8VS4 Scara robot from Wittmann Group specially designed for this machine, inspected by a camera and then deposited on a conveyor belt. On a SmartPower 180/750 machine, a diffusion lens will be moulded in PC using a single-cavity mould supplied by Safeplast of Austria. The parts will be removed and deposited by a locally produced Wittmann robot. The SmartPower series feature an energy-efficient servo-hydraulic drive as standard and use the available deceleration energy via KERS (kinetic energy recovery system) for barrel heating. Wittmann Group will also display some of its wide
range of robots, including units made at its produc- tion plant in Kunshan, China. Robots for smaller-sized injection moulding machines will be showcased, such as the models W808, W818TS and a Primus 16S. In addition, the W828 und W838T, which feature load capacities of 12kg and 15kg respectively, will be on show. In the area of temperature controllers, three models of the entry-level Tempro basic C series will be exhibited. Other Wittmann ancillary equipment at Chinaplas includes the new FlowCon plus flow controller, two Aton segmented wheel dryers, and various granulators, feeders and blenders.
