Haitian opens machine production site in Mexico
Haitian International has inaugurated an injection moulding machine manufac- turing facility in Acatlan de Juarez, in the Mexican state of Jalisco. The $50m invest- ment at the site is intended to strengthen the Chinese group’s local production capacity, shorten delivery times and provide solutions for the technical require- ments of its customers in North and South America. Taking part in the
inauguration ceremony were state and local officials, the top management of Haitian Group and 400 invited guests, including local customers, dealers, partners and the employees of Haitian Mexico. The new site covers a total
of 92,000 m² for manufactur- ing, sales and administration. Around 27,000 m² is production space with functions such as metalwork- ing, assembly, application and service centre plus customer service. The

remaining area is reserved for strategic developments. By June, more than 100 machines had been pro- duced and delivered to regional customers after trial operation. The facility is located in
Mexico’s Centro Logistico Jalisco in the Guadalajara metropolitan area. Haitian said the location was chosen with care because it offers both rapid access to the fast-growing industrial areas in central Mexico and efficient transportation
options to the rest of the country. In addition, Mexico is a central transportation hub for the main axes of important logistics links in the Americas and is close to the seaport of Manzanillo. In his opening speech,
Zhang Jianming, CEO of Haitian Group, emphasized the strategic importance of this manufacturing facility, which will serve as both a regional headquarters and a production centre for the entire Americas region. �

Connecticut, US-based precision injection mould- er and mould builder Stelray Plastic Products is adding 1,500 m² to its existing 4,260 m² mould- ing department to accom- modate a Haitian 620 tonne injection moulding machine and integrated 3-axis robot.

Growing Comar adds medical workcells
Comar, a US contract manufacturer of medical and packaging solutions, has purchased six integrated Wittmann Battenfeld injection moulding machine workcells. Four are located at its West Bend, Wisconsin, plant and used for high-volume lid production, while the other two are to be used for a propri- etary medical application at facilities in California and New Jersey. Comar has seen business boom since
the Covid pandemic, with production of wet-wipe canister lids at the 8,000 m²

West Bend facility rising over 50%. The facility now features 22 injection mould- ing machines ranging from 180-550 US tons, seven of which are Wittmann all-electric EcoPower Express machines with B8 controls. Comar employs high cavitation
precision moulds on the new machines that perform ultra-fast cycle times and optimises its moulding processes by installing RJG eDart systems. �
