Building on the SunChill colour masterbatches designed to decrease the thermal load of dark plastic items exposed to sunlight and hot weather conditions it launched last year, Ampacet has put forward several new innovations recently, many centred around sustainability. Last year, the company announced the launch of BioRange+ masterbatch solutions which comply with EN 13432:2000 composting standards. These materi- als are said to be ideal for applications contami- nated with food or other organic materials, and at end-of-life are collected with other organic wastes for industrial composting. Elsewhere in the portfolio, BioRange+ Home
products include white and colour masterbatches which have received TUV OK Compost Home certification. Suitable applications range from carrier bags and coffee capsules to plant pots and mulch films in the horticulture and agriculture sector. At the K2022 exhibition, Ampacet demonstrated its Spectro 4.0 Smart Technologies, a patented colour measurement system with innovations including in-line colour measuring and correction capabilities to ensure real-time production meets set colour specifications. Fibre optic sensors
compare colour data to a preset colour standard throughout the manufacturing process to deliver consistent and accurate colour monitoring and colour correction in real time without interrupting production or creating delays by collecting samples to test. In partnership with French bio-based plastic
experts NaturePlast, this May Ampacet launched the Secret Sea-Grit collection made from 100% PCR material and aquaculture waste. Specifically
