industry highlighted a material-saving component design and energy efficiency. An Allrounder 720 A Ultimate produced four thin-walled IML round cups with a wall thickness of only 0.37 mm in a cycle time of 3.95 s. Arburg says that combining the new all-electric packaging machine with the injection compression moulding process improves the energy footprint by 20% while significantly reduc- ing the component weight from 13 to 10.8 g. Other application highlights included: the fully
automated injection stretch blow moulding of vaccine containers; the production of ready-to-use Luer Lock connectors for the pharmaceutical industry; and the production of tyre levers that can be traced via an “invisible fingerprint”. Arburg has expanded outside injection mould- ing machinery with its move into additive manufac- turing technology, starting with the launch of its proprietary Freeformer technology in 2013. At the Anniversary Days in March, it showed the breadth of its additive manufacturing technology with Freeformer exhibits and 3D printers from InnovatiQ (a member of the Arburg family since 2020). One highlight was the new Freeformer 750-3X with a build chamber around 2.5 times larger and with a
higher construction speed compared to the Freeformer 300-3X – with the same external dimensions. The process is also faster and more economical, says Arburg. Also on display were Freeformers in high-temperature and soft versions for processing plastic granules, as well as the TiQ and LiQ series, which 3D print on the basis of filaments and liquid silicone. Visitors to Arburg Anniversary Days were able to embark on a multimedia journey through the 100-year history of the Hehl family business in the Arburg Cube. There was also recognition for the 100,000th visitor to the regular event, normally called Arburg Technology Days which has been running since 1999. Arburg has held more events in this anniversary
year. In late March, it hosted the Partner Summit in Lossburg, at which it expressed its special thanks to its long-standing technology partners and suppli- ers. It says 450 guests came to the event to celebrate the anniversary in the Arburg Cube. In June, Arburg placed the focus on its long- serving employees, with a celebration including managing directors and divisional managers. �
