EXTRUDER OF THE MONTH

Bogucki Folie Head office:

Managing director: Founded:

Ownership: Profile:

Private

Bogucki Folie, founded in 1983, was originally involved in heat-sealing polyethylene (PE) carrier bags but has expanded to become a major producer of polyethylene films with a variety of physical and chemical properties. It now produces around 30,000 tonnes/year of film for both domestic and foreign markets

Product lines:

The company produces films for several end markets. In beverages, it offers heat-shrinkable film with high gloss – transparent or matte – depending on the needs of the customer. For food packaging, its films include monofilms, laminates and wicket bags. It also makes film for household applications. One example is its Packstar BC, a co-extruded, two-coloured LDPE film with a thickness of 55-80 microns, for packing substrates and garden soil. Versa-Lam BC, made of LDPE film, has a special formulation – so the outer film structure prevents filled bags from sliding off a pallet. The company also offers films for pet food packaging and industrial applications.

Factory location:

The company’s single location in Jatne produces all its products – and has facilities for design, extrusion – of both blown and cast film – printing, lamination and research. The company recently upgraded and updated its facilities with a new cast film line from Reifenhauser for production of food packaging which includes an automated system for flat dies.
