I want to reduce my sugar intake this year! Any suggestions to satisfy
my sweet tooth?
That’s a great goal — and achieving it is going to be delicious. Fruit leather, sweet and salty mixed nuts, French-style yogurt, banana brittle with dark chocolate nibs and coconut flakes and vanilla bean hummus are my go-tos. You can even try chocolate plant-based milks like Ripple Pea Milk, Planet Oat, or lactose-free La Colombe canned coffee. All give you that choc- olate you’re craving without as much added fat and sugar. Whatever your preference, these op- tions can help satiate that sweet tooth without a ton of extra calories. While we want to have our treats in moderation, a small indulgence does the soul good every now and then!

You must be talking about Guiding Stars! This nutrition rating system designates products as “good,” “better,” and “best”— and the more stars there are, the healthier the food. Stars are earned based on what we should be getting more of, like fiber, omega-3s, B vitamins and whole grains, and what we shouldn’t, like added sugar, sodi- um and saturated fat. Look for Guiding Stars on the price tag or next to Savory recipes. Search and sort recipes by Guiding Stars at
