Advantages and disadvantages of pre-wet systems

here may be several reasons to use a pre-wet system or not. For compa- nies that produce compost on a very large scale, incorporating a pre-wet process in their existing systems is often too complex. Speed and space also play a major role here. Another potential reason not to pre-wet is simply because the benefits are not obvious.


What is its actual purpose? The purpose of pre-wetting is to soften the hard, waxy layer around the straw blades to allow bacteria to penetrate directly.
