The common thread was: ‘How do I get the mushrooms into the tray with as few hands as possible?’ There are numerous suppliers working on this pressing issue and participants could get an idea how the drawer system by Christiaens Group, the tilting shelves system by GTL Europe and TLT Automation, and the harvesting system by Axis function. On page 36, we give an update on these solutions, with the latest info gathered at the conference. Last but not least, the BDC Jahrestagung featured a visit to Pilzland Schwaigern, where GTL and Limbraco built a state-of-the-art farm (a pull-over system with tilting shelves).
