Every morning, millions of students step onto a school bus. For too many, the greatest risk isn’t the ride. It’s the moment a motorist fails to stop. Every day in the United States, 39.3 million illegal school bus passings occur (NASDPTS, 2025). On one recent survey day alone, 67,258 violations were reported—projected to more than 218,000 in a single day. Each one is a potential tragedy.
