From aides on buses to sharing information with the transportation department, this presentation will include practical tips that you need to know to minimize liability and keep students safe.


Staying Mission-Focused: Leading Through Policy Shifts with Clarity and Confidence As an individual with a disability, Glenna brings a unique perspective to her work, which includes serving as the assistant secretary for the U.S. Depart- ment of Education’s Office of Special Education and Rehabilitation Services in 2003 and 2004. This personal experience fuels her commitment to ensur- ing all individuals have access to opportunities without arbitrary limitations. Her strategic approach to policy development positions her to lead advance- ments in inclusive practices that empower individuals with disabilities.


Developmentally Appropriate Safety Education Michele addresses one of the most pressing and timely concerns school com- munities face today: Developing and delivering safety curricula and training with respect to the unique needs of students and staff of all ages, abilities and educational levels. Using models for teaching and training developed by Safe and Sound Schools, Michele empowers staff to determine objectives and activities for developmentally appropriate and psychologically safe education and training in the K-12 school setting.
