‘Together on Water’: One Year On
We launched ‘Together on Water’ alongside our new brand identity in June 2023, setting out our future direction and priorities so that we remain a strong, collective influence and representative voice for our members and network. Our new strategy aligns to our fundamental reason for being at the RYA and advocates for opportunities for anyone to find and enjoy their place among the UK’s boating communities, big and small. The refreshed look, feel and sound of our RYA brand connects us with more people, from all locations and backgrounds, showing them everything the water has to offer.
RYA personal membership currently stands at 106,080 and is stable. Through consulting with the sailing and boating sector in the UK to refine ‘Together on Water’, we want to see that number grow.
Our members remain at the heart of all that we do at the RYA. ‘Together on Water’ gives us scope to spend time with those who are new to boating and water activities whilst continuing to campaign for the issues that matter to our long-term members, like water quality and maritime safety.
We couldn’t continue to do the work we do without the support of our stakeholders and partners, the RYA Board, all volunteers, credential holders on and off the water and all the RYA employees. I’d like to take the time now to thank them for all of the work they do with us and for the difference they make to the RYA and its members – thank you all.
Raising your Awareness
In the next few pages, we reflect on the past year and the impact we’ve had in a number of key areas. We have a broad range of activities and successes to look back on and share with you but, more importantly, we want to reaffirm our commitment to all for the years ahead. We truly believe that the water is for everyone and that anyone can benefit from time spent on any of our wonderful waterways.
