OTRA’s Trail Riding and Camping Season Has Begun!
Our somewhat short
winter is quickly changing to beautiful spring weather, and many horseback riders have ‘brushed’ off their trailers, had both truck and trailer safety checked and/or certified, and started putting stored camping items back into their ‘getaway digs’. We all probably have
our own, but the following is another list/reminder of important items to take along when heading out ei- ther for a few hours, or a multiple day trip.
Tack and Equipment: Saddle/saddle pads Bridles Extra reins/girth or cinch Halters/lead ropes Cool down blanket/ rain sheet
Flymask/sheet Lunge line/ and crop Leather hole punch Spare leather for repairs
Attire and Food: Helmet Extra riding boots Chaps Rain coat/boots Extra gloves Sunscreen and SPF lip balm
Hat or sun visor Cooler with water bottles Food & non-perishable snacks
