CEPI’s Sylvain Lhôte passes away ... The secretariat of the Confederation of European Paper Industries (CEPI) announced the sudden and unexpected death of its Director General,


Sylvain Lhôte, a French


national, aged 51, on 6 June


2019 from heart failure. Sylvain was Director General of CEPI from 2016 and brought strong leadership to the


organisation, reforming the way of working, focusing on building efficient working tools and processes, encouraging synergies and increased communication among colleagues and value chain partners.

Jori Ringman, Deputy Director General has unanimously been appointed by the CEPI Board as successor to Sylvain Lhôte at the helm of the Brussels-based organisation.


Mr Ringman is an expert in sustainability, environment, circular economy and consumer


protection, joining CEPI in 2005 as Recycling Director and was appointed Deputy Director General in 2016. He has a background in economics, econometrics and business management plus broad experience in communications, public administration and politics.
