SHOPPING CENTRES & RETAIL OUTLETS: PRODUCT FOCUS BUYING TIME
Tilemaster Adhesives talks us through its wide range of products available to help your retail installation run as smoothly and quickly as possible.
In retail floor installations, speed is a key factor across all aspects of specification. Timescales need to be as short as possible to minimise downtime, disruption and lost revenue. In response, Tilemaster Adhesives offers a range of floor preparation and installation products that enable overnight installation and tackle retail fit-out issues.
Go with the Flow
For ultra-rapid walk on times, in as little as 30 minutes, options include Tilemaster Super Flow 30 and Tilemaster Rapid Level 30. Both smoothing and levelling compounds allow key areas, like entrances, access points and walkways, to be put back into service between downtime and installation. On both products, ceramic, porcelain and natural stone tiles can be laid after just 45-60 minutes.
Super Flow 30 is a two-part smoothing compound, which requires no water. This is therefore ideal for projects where water access points are limited or not available. Other benefits include moisture tolerance, and excellent flow and adhesion properties; the leveller creates a mirror-like, blemish-free surface, without the need to spike roll or feather.
Level Up
Tilemaster Rapid Level 30 provides a water-based option, formulated using advanced binder technology and selected additives; it provides a range of benefits, including excellent self-levelling properties and fast application. For outdoor areas, the range also includes Tilemaster External Leveller – a trowel or pumpable system that can be walked on and tiled after three hours.
As if by Magix
Tilemaster Adhesives’ Magix also offers specific benefits in retail projects. The high-yield adhesive – which is offered in both a rapid and standard set - gives double the coverage of a traditional sand/cement-based product. This makes handling easier and reduces the amount of mixing required. Other benefits include exceptional workability and slip-resistance properties. Magix is ideal for large format porcelain and stone installations, and offers a set time of three hours with rapid setting Magix-R, or 16 hours for the standard setting equivalent, Magix-S.
The Finishing Touch
For finishing, Tilemaster’s revamped Grout 3000 range now offers a faster setting option, in a choice of 18 shades. Grout 3000 is mould and water-resistant and remains efflorescence free. It’s suitable for a wider range of grout joints - from 1mm to 20mm in depth and width – and provides a working time of around 30 - 45 minutes. Floors can be walked on after approximately three hours, with a final set time of 24 hours.
