KARNDEAN DESIGNFLOORING UNVEILS NEW TRAINING ACADEMY


Luxury vinyl flooring manufacturer Karndean Designflooring has introduced a new state-of-the-art Karndean Training Academy as part of plans to expand its specialist training courses.


Based at its head office in the heart of the Cotswolds, Worcestershire, Karndean’s training academy introduces eight spacious, purpose-built installation bays, a dedicated 10m2


subfloor


preparation area and open-plan lecture space for group theory sessions.


The new Karndean Training Academy will facilitate three-day fitting courses designed to accommodate all levels, from basic, intermediate to advanced, as well as one-day workshops. The workshops include the preparation and installation of floating floors, geo-metric Heritage collection installation and bespoke motifs and designs.


It will be delivered by a specialist team of Karndean installers with experience in all aspects of prepping and installing luxury vinyl flooring.

important role in training future floor fitters to avoid a skills gap, as well as supporting installers who are looking to further develop.


Darren said: “With the demand for herringbone laying patterns, bespoke installations and new formats being introduced, we felt it was the right time to invest in our own training facility to support retail partners, trade installers and distributors looking to enhance or learn how to install luxury vinyl flooring.

“Whereas previously we only had a basic or advanced option, the new suite of training courses have been carefully developed and re-designed to ensure installers stay at the forefront


of trends in luxury vinyl flooring, as well as understanding the very latest installation practises covering all formats from gluedown, loose lay to rigid core.


“Installers attending the courses can also expect more in-depth, practical sessions to improve the quality and ease of installation, introduction to sophisticated techniques and new skills to accommodate custom Karndean floors.”
