Turn the clock back to 2006, the year a whale took a detour up the river Thames; bird flu was discovered in Scotland; Italy won the world cup in Germany and MeasureSquare was born in a small room in the back of the house in a quiet suburb in Brisbane, Australia. Back then, it was still very normal for businesses to pound the pavement, knock on doors, run advertisements in magazines and on local radio, etc. Pretty much what we all do today, to varying degrees. I think from memory, the budget stretched at the time to a website and a credit-card-sized advertisement in the only industry magazine in the country.

However, casting our minds back to 2006, I think Skype and perhaps a sprinkling of others were used to keep in touch with family and friends. Back then, video conferencing and screen sharing was the realm of corporate giants, governments and great spy movies; besides that, who could afford it anyway? Well, as it turns out, any small business with the passion and drive to figure it out and make it work for them.
