A TASTE OF VENICE IN SOLIHULL
Premiering to the UK flooring retail industry for the first time, Splendore di Venezia, was the star of the stand for Louis de Poortere at this year’s Buying Groups’ National Flooring Show.
Inspired by the opulence and splendour of classical Venice, the brand-new collection uses high-gloss polyester raffia, a flat tape-like continuous yarn, to give it a unique look. Louis de Poortere weaves, twists and turns the silver and gold yarns for a dazzling effect. Mixed with cotton chenille and woven into striking geometric and abstract patterns, this extra-strong yarn sets Splendore di Venezia apart.

But the introduction of Splendore di Venezia was not the only UK-first for Louis de Poortere at this year’s event, with the manufacturer also unveiling the Haute Couture Design Box. Giving an impressive overview of the sheer scale of the Haute Couture collection, the box holds swatches of the collection’s woven wool, cotton polyamide and cotton wool qualities, across 40 samples selected from 15 designs. Also featuring a glossy brochure revealing the designs, colours and finer points in full, the box is a thoughtful and elegant solution to presenting the collection.
