HEALTH & SAFETY EVENT LIVE GUIDE: EXHIBITORS
PLINX STAND: 4/F29
Technology developed at Worcestershire technology accelerator BetaDen, mandated for use across an 80km stretch of the HS2 construction site, will be showcased at the Health and Safety Event this year.
Plinx, a founder member of cohort 2 at BetaDen, will showcase its fully-integrated Protect, Connect, Effect system, which uses sensors and private networks to make workers and machinery operators aware of changing site hazards in real time, reducing the likelihood of collisions or other accidents.
Matt Young, Head of Growth at Plinx, said: “We’re looking forward to demonstrating our latest system features at the Health and Safety event.
“Plinx has been extremely well received by the construction sector since we developed the technology at BetaDen and, through our experience working with HS2, we’ve now been able identify a number of additional features that will add real value on site.
“We believe our new system is the industry’s first truly- interconnected digital safety solution.
“By combining a highly-portable, secure private network that works well in both open and remote environments - such as tunnels - with real-time
TOUGHBUILT STAND: 4/F160
US manufacturer ToughBuilt will use its sizeable presence, located on Stand F160 in Hall 4 of the NEC, to showcase a number of products and, in particular, to highlight its globally respected range of knee pads.
Following the company's launch into the UK and Europe in 2019, ToughBuilt Knee Pads have been specified by a number of high-profile European customers. This includes the London Ambulance Service NHS Trust (LAS), one of the busiest ambulance services in the world, who have adopted ToughBuilt Knee Pads for a number of its specialist response teams.
ToughBuilt is also one of the few manufacturers to offer a kneepad range where every single model is both CE and UKCA certified.
Throughout the three days of the 2021 Health & Safety Event, ToughBuilt will be staging product demonstrations as well running competitions and promotions to encourage footfall on to its stand and to generate a real sense of excitement amongst visitors.
Matthew Handley, Head of Marketing at ToughBuilt (Europe), said: "ToughBuilt entered the UK and

European markets in late 2019 as part of plans to replicate our wider global success. The timing of this meant it was just before the start of the COVID-19 pandemic and so the successes we've seen so far come after something of a soft launch.
"We've been waiting for the chance to really shout about the strength of our offer, to showcase our Knee Pad range, which offers unrivalled performance and choice, and to highlight some of the many reasons why our Knee Pads have gained such a large and loyal worldwide customer-base. The 2021 Health & Safety Event gives us the ideal platform to do just that.
"We'll also be using the show to promote some of our other products which includes the ClipTech system of Belts and Pouches, Padded Suspenders, Tool Bags, Totes, and our globally respected Sawhorses."

location data drawn from helmet-mounted sensors and tags installed on site hazards and machinery, we can alert workers to changing dangers and reduce the likelihood of collisions and other on-site accidents.”
As well as alerting workers to live hazards, Plinx’s system can also be used to create and monitor digital hazard zones, providing visual and audible feedback should an operative accidentally approach or breach a key zone, depending on their role or responsibility. These hazard zones can be tracked as part of existing working practices, helping managers identify potential risks and providing important data to inform site and project planning.
Linda Smith, founder and CEO at BetaDen, said: “Plinx has developed an impressive solution to an industry- wide challenge and we’re looking forward to watching their business go from strength to strength.”
