FEATURE IN THE SPOTLIGHT

attended the A+A show in Dusseldorf. How was it this year?

Q: A:

I’ve been really impressed with the high standards of professionalism at this year’s show,

and also the exciting range of industry representatives across all the different sectors. As Europe’s largest and most important event when it comes to safety, security and health at work, the A+A really is all things safety under one roof.

This exciting platform serves as a reminder of our commitment and responsibilities, and what the industry expects of us as trailblazers in leading the world to a safer future.

It is always a pleasure to attend the A+A, as it’s a well organised, superbly run trade show with so much added value – including the latest advances and technological developments for safety, security and health at work. A+A’s forums and special shows are an essential part and complement the show. Here we can find out more about cutting-edge solutions, the latest research, best practices and gain valuable awareness how we can continue to raise the bar in terms of what we offer our customers.

We’ve seen some very interesting new products and innovations at this year’s show – giving us the perfect opportunity to benchmark our own portfolio against what is coming to market from elsewhere. It is also the perfect opportunity to showcase the innovations we have been working so hard on, and to continue to provide world-class solutions on the best ways for companies to keep their workers safe in the same way that we do all year.

It’s a privilege to engage and network with colleagues and friends – old and new – across this broad sector. Not only is it the perfect chance to assess industry trends, it also serves as a way for us to connect with our target market, establish important relationships with stakeholders and forge exciting new partnerships. As a company we pride ourselves on the personal insight we gain that helps us to meet our customers' personal protection needs.

What are the biggest challenges you have faced since you took on the role as Ansell CCO and what are your priorities in the upcoming months?

A:

Tomorrow’s Health & Safety caught up with Augusto M. Accorsi, Chief Commercial Officer EMEA & APAC at Ansell, to find out how the workplace safety solutions brand continues to adapt and innovate in response to evolving challenges in the sector.

I’ve been with Ansell for 16 years now. Although I’ve only recently stepped into the role of

Chief Commercial Officer EMEA & APAC, I’m relishing the opportunity to play a strategic role in taking the company into the next exciting chapter of its journey as one of the world’s most trusted brands for safety solutions in the workplace. In my previous role as Ansell’s Vice President and General Manager, Single Use & Exam Solutions SBU, I oversaw more than $500m business selling across all global markets and a diverse customer base.

My background and leadership roles in general management, marketing, business development and corporate strategy has stood me in good stead to take over the reins as CCO.

I’m passionate about driving strategy and decision- making across business development, marketing and operations. In my new role I hope to continue innovating the company’s product pipeline, spearheading major acquisitions, defining the long- term strategy for our global business, launching exciting new products to support international expansion, establishing key corporate processes, launching organic growth initiatives and expanding global presence in key industries. I want to use all my experience and insights to grow this extraordinary company’s presence even more extensively.

Q: A:

How important do you think technology is in building a safer workplace?

Technology in workplace safety is the future and Ansell is proud to be on the very forefront

of global future advances in technological solutions to revolutionise safety and protection in the workplace. Our comprehensive portfolio features state-of-the-art technological innovations that are changing the face of PPE as we know it.

Can you tell me about the technology behind the new Inteliforz and how it can reduce musculoskeletal disorders?

Using real-time, individual, team or job function data to create a smarter and safer workplace,

Inteliforz is going to revolutionise the way in which we prevent injuries, such as musculoskeletal disorders, by detecting risky hand and wrist movements. Using the haptic ‘buzz’ feedback, potentially risky motions can be identified while in use by an individual to optimise ergonomic training and coaching opportunities.
