PERFECT TRAINING AND PARTNERSHIP Health and safety is not just about being able to “tick the box”, it is about
making people and the workplace safe for everyone, while still allowing them to carry out their job, an approach that PIP takes to heart.
ALUMINIUM PROFILE SYSTEMS FOR SCIENTIFIC
APPLICATION It is undoubtedly the case that most of us imagine industrial aluminium profiling being used first and foremost in the construction of machine guarding, assembly lines and workstations. In these cases of course the principal objective is to provide a safe operating environment and contain the possible hazards that staff may be exposed to.
Modular aluminium profile systems are extremely versatile and, within reason, can be put together to build an almost limitless number of constructions.
MiniTec UK Ltd has worked together with Magnetic Shields to design and build a low frequency, magnetically- shielded room for test purposes. Magnetic Shields Ltd manufacture bespoke magnetic shielding systems.
MiniTec and Magnetic Shields worked together to design and manufacture a shielded room for the University of Vienna who conduct research into the properties of magnetic fields and their influence on the working environment.
The MiniTec aluminium profile system was selected because of its robustness compared with other systems available and the simplicity of installation coupled with the comprehensive range of accessories available.
Once the framework was complete it was clad with Mumetal®, a highly permeable material, which serves to absorb the magnetic field and re-direct it away from the interior of the room. The drastically-reduced magnetic field inside the room allows experiments to be carried out without unwanted magnetic interference.

PIP stands for “Perfect In Partnership” and we believe that any type of training or service is a partnership between the provider and the candidate/ company. By working together, we train and guide candidates through their qualifications as well as working with businesses to ensure that they meet and exceed their regulatory requirements regarding health and safety.
We are not only a consultant and training provider, but also a CSCS Test Centre, allowing training and testing in the same day. We tailor our services on an individual basis as we realise every company requires something different.
PIP is in a unique position in that our courses enable us to cover the entire “Life cycle” of any building/facility:
PIP Course
CSCS/SSSTS/SMSTS/NEBOSH BIFM Facilities Management NEBOSH, IOSH, H&S, First Aid,
Food Safety CSCS/SSSTS/SMSTS/NEBOSH Stage
- Construct the building/facility - Manage the building/facility - Manage the personnel/activities
within the building
- Re-task or demolish the building/facility
We pride ourselves on our professionalism and dedication to our clients and always work to a “quality not quantity” ethos. Customers like our approach and it has led to cases where an individual has attended a course and due to the positive feedback, their company takes us on as their consultants.
PIP is on the Skills Funding Agency list of accredited Training Providers, allowing us to provide quality training for other organisations that have been given government funding.
We are also proud to work with the Armed Forces to provide training for personnel that are leaving the services.

The combination of the flexible, durable and robust aluminium profiling system clad with a special material capable of absorbing and re-directing the magnetic forces exerted under test conditions met all the requirements of this demanding project.
In another example, a global leader in the manufacture of ultrasound test equipment, Precision Acoustics, required customised cabinets to house a new product to be used for the measurement of medical diagnostic and physiotherapy equipment.
Of prime importance in this case was the need to provide a fully-
enclosed operating environment for the test equipment and avoid disturbances to the test processes. The modular profile approach from MiniTec provides a flexible approach to ensuring that the requirements of the application could be achieved. The main features incorporated include:
• Magnetic door catches
• Brushed cable entry points to ease setup, whilst minimising airflow that could disrupt measurements
• Multiple doors for access and avoidance of disturbing the balance of the equipment
