CARDIAC SCIENCE SHOWCASE

DEFIBS DELIVERING ZERO HARM Automated external defibrillator (AED) manufacturers Cardiac Science (stand no P140) will be at the Safety and Health Expo with a strong message about how AEDS are helping some of Britain’s biggest businesses develop their approach to occupational health.

The company will be showcasing its latest device the Powerheart G5 and full package of technical, product and training support to enable businesses to embrace AED technology in the workplace.

With a vast amount of customers in key occupational and health and safety roles, Cardiac Science has a wealth of experience in providing a full service solution, supplying product support and services to build confidence in the device from the ground up.

Empowering people to take responsibility for their safety at work and that of others is at the heart of most leading occupational health strategies, and that is exactly what Cardiac Science look to do with all customers with large, multi-site workforces. Corporate customers include David Lloyd, Wates Group, Carillion, HMRC and Mace.

Kelly Osborne, Occupational Health Manager at the Wates Group commented: “By deploying defibrillators and educating our people on their benefits and use we will enable them to take action as required, which could save a life.”

Training is delivered on site in partnership with local ambulance services, so that first responders can be identified, made familiar with how the AED works and take life-saving action with confidence in the event of a sudden cardiac arrest (SCA). It is supported by a unique, easy-to- access online learning programme, called CardiAcademy.

The Powerheart® G5 defibrillator is the first AEDs to combine real-time rescuer cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR) guidance, customised patient therapy and fast shock times. It has a rigorous self-checking regime to ensure that it will perform to expectations in an emergency and iCPR electrodes, which prompt effective chest compressions and depth, and variable escalating energy shock capacity.

It literally talks a rescuer through the process and will never give a shock unless required.
