AWARD- WINNING INDUSTRIAL HAND

FIREFIGHTING LEAPS

INTO THE FUTURE Scott Safety’s commitment to helping everyday heroes has taken a giant leap forward, with the launch of a firefighting industry first - Scott Sight – an in-mask thermal imaging intelligence system. This ground- breaking system brings the future of firefighting into clear view for those on the frontline and is set to revolutionise the industry.

The innovative thermal imaging technology enables integration of a lightweight thermal-imaging camera within the mask’s display, providing firefighters with a clear, unobstructed view of their surroundings by keeping a thermal image in view at all times.

The hands-free thermal imaging technology improves firefighters’ situational intelligence and eradicates the need to stop searching or put the hose down to deploy a hand- held camera, while also improving firefighter hot-zone accountability.

Although exceptionally lightweight at 240 grams, Scott Sight is very powerful, producing a 160x120 resolution at nine frames per second through an infinity lens, which ensures a clear picture with no eyestrain.

Longin Kloc, Global Product Manager, Growth Initiatives from Scott Safety, said: “We are extremely proud to launch such an innovative product for the firefighting industry. Scott Sight really is a sophisticated imaging tool - it supplements existing hand-held technology by offering configurable hands-free visibility to the wearer in often inhospitable situations.

PROTECTION Shanghai Select Safety Products (Safety INXS) are pleased to announce they have won the coveted SILVER A’ Design award for their KARBONHEX KX-10 OBSIDIAN level five cut resistant glove, in the safety clothing and personal protective equipment design category. This follows on from last year’s GOLD award win for their best-selling KX-05 Karbon glove with innovative anti impact and shock “INPAX XERO” palm padding, for advanced protection from industrial power tools and equipment.

In brief, the OBSIDIAN is a close- fitting and lightweight seamless Cut Level 5 precision handling glove with a hybrid Polyurethane/Nitrile fusion palm-dipped coating that provides phenomenal grip whilst protecting from cuts and slashes. The gloves’ main features and benefits are:

• Close-fitting seamless 18 gauge knitted HPPE shell provides superior fit and cut protection

• Fusion PU/Nitrile palm coating provides secure handling of small/ sharp/wet/dry/oily components

• Reinforced Nitrile patch to thumb crotch for extra strength and glove longevity

• Elasticised knit-wrist cuff with Velcro adjustable closure for a perfect & secure fit

“To create Scott Sight, we worked very closely with firefighters to develop a thermal imaging solution that is more accessible and easier to use. This means that the wearer’s attention can stay focused on the fire, enhancing the ability to spot hazards and locate casualties, while also providing the means to identify a secondary egress in the event of a sudden change in circumstances.”

OBSIDIAN gloves have been specially designed for working professionals who are involved in precision handing and intricate tasks that require extreme dexterity and flexibility, while offering the highest level of protection from cuts and slashes.

Safety-INXS are specialists in the design and manufacture of cut- resistant gloves, spinning, wrapping and blending their own unique cut resistant yarns, which are then knitted and dipped on site in their Nantong factories to their own exacting specification, quality and award-winning safety designs.

Their new master brand “HYBRID ARMORGARD” range of cut-resistant gloves will be launched at A+A safety exhibition in Dusseldorf later in the year and will feature sub ranges of ‘BLADEX’, ‘VOLKANIX’, ‘AKORE’ and more. Each range having specific attributes and properties to suit differing industries and applications.
