Bespoke Fit Testing Solutions from Shawcity include fully HSE- compliant, breakthrough technology; Quantifit. The fastest fit-tester on the market, Quantifit typically tests each user within three minutes, half the time of the current market leader. Uniquely, it utilises only power and air to create controlled negative pressure, which directly measures respirator leakage and does not require consumables such as alcohol solutions, wicks and probes. It can also be used in any environment – indoor or outdoor, clean or dirty - as long as air is present, so no need for candles, salt fog or filtration systems.
Quantifit has unrivalled accuracy; with a Known Calibrated Leak of 97.9% with a Coefficient of Variation at just 4.3% where the Market- leading Aerosol Competitor is only 37% at a variation of 44.7%.
How does it work? During a fit test, respirator inlets are capped and inhalation valves are propped open or removed. With the user holding their breath for no more than ten seconds, Quantifit then establishes and maintains a slight vacuum, or controlled negative pressure, inside the mask. All sources of leakage into the mask are through the face-to-face piece seal or due to integrity issues. The volume of air drawn out of the mask by the Quantifit during this short period of time is equal to the leak rate into the mask. Fit is measured by simulated movements approximating real life.
