This worldwide awareness day falls on 15th October, and this year the theme is ‘Our Future is at Hand – Let’s Move Forward Together.’
The pandemic highlighted the importance of handwashing for reducing the spread of disease and protecting health. However, recent US reports have indicated that handwashing has fallen to pre-Covid levels. As the world moves beyond the pandemic and into a new normal, it is crucial that the momentum is maintained in order to move towards universal hand hygiene and increased public health.
