KINETIC Thomas Dudley
Thomas Dudley’s new Kinetic is an intelligent water-saving ‘all-in-one’ electronic urinal control, designed to reduce water consumption in any washroom installation.
Thomas Dudley understand the need to save water in commercial washrooms. The Dudley range has been developed to provide exceptional reliability and simple servicing. Dudley’s Kinetic offers a simple set-up solution and instructions; saving time and guaranteeing accurate water-savings without the constant requirement of refilling and emptying the cistern.
The contemporary urinal flushing valve has been designed to save up to 80% of water in comparison with traditional petcock and automatic cistern installations. Unlike other controls, Kinetic’s digital precision set- up removes guesswork and ensures that it is easy to set-up correctly.
Kinetic which is available in both glossy white and grey finishes, is stylish and aesthetically pleasing to the eye, ideal for any washroom environment. Offering a choice to be installed onto pipework, wall or ceiling, it can also be powered by mains or battery and is suitable for water pressures of 0.1 – 10 bar.
Over 500 Dudley products are approved by WRAS and the European Water Label Scheme, as they significantly reduce water consumption and impact positively upon operator balance sheets and the environment.
Thomas Dudley Ltd has been manufacturing in the West Midlands since 1920 and has been trusted by the trade for over 40 years. Dudley products are simple to install and service and spares are readily available to maximise the working life and minimise costs of every application.

LEGIOLERT IDEXX
IDEXX, a specialist in microbiological testing for water, has introduced Legiolert, a rapid and accurate test for Legionella pneumophila, into the UK healthcare sector.
Legiolert represents the biggest breakthrough in Legionella detection for four decades and took eight years to develop. The result is the most accurate, sensitive and rapid culture method currently available. A potential life-saver in hospitals, Legiolert targets and identifies Legionella pneumophila, the pathogen responsible for 99%+ of cases of Legionnaires’ disease.
Legiolert uses bacterial enzyme detection technology to identify and enumerate L. pneumophila in drinking water and other building water systems. It supplies nutrients which allow any L. pneumophila cells present in a water sample to grow rapidly, and an indicator in the reagent changes colour to signal their presence.
The test is simple to use and requires minimal training and equipment to set up, giving confirmed results in seven days, around half the time of
traditional agar-based methods. Legiolert simplifies and
accelerates water testing, reducing risks posed by the potentially fatal Legionnaires’ disease by generating highly reliable data and enabling faster remedial action.
Legiolert is selective, sensitive and suitable for on-site testing in hospitals, public and healthcare buildings, cruise ships, and in traditional laboratories.
The Legiolert sensitivity, specificity, low false positive rate and high efficiency rates are all repeatedly above 98% with no further confirmation steps required.
