Churchill retains University of Suffolk contract

Churchill Group has extended its cleaning and security contract with the University of Suffolk for five years, with the option of another one or two years, following a competitive tender process.

Churchill has provided cleaning services since 2011, and Amulet has provided security since 2019. Both services will be delivered under the Churchill Group umbrella, with its multiple soft service specialisms a key reason for the contract win.

More than 60 cleaning operatives and security officers across four main campuses will deliver work including window cleaning, washroom services, pest control, water dispensers, as well as CCTV monitoring and patrolling to safeguard and protect the students and assets on site.

Amulet won the security contract five years ago in part because the University of Suffolk team was so impressed with the cleaning partnership. This contract extension is testament to the ongoing success of the partnership. A proven delivery model, innovative approach and flexibility were also key reasons for Churchill Group’s win.

Darren Read, Chief Operating Officer at Churchill Group, said: “We’re delighted to extend a partnership with an organisation that shares so many of our values. The years of trust we have built, along with the length of the new contract, make it a fantastic opportunity for continued investment and innovation. The University of Suffolk team has always been open to new ideas, and we look forward to helping them deliver exceptional experiences for their staff and students.”

Nigel Lucker, Director of Estates at the University of Suffolk, added: “After a full tender period, we are delighted to partner with Churchill Group as our cleaning, security and soft services FM partner. We maintain exceptional spaces and create a more sustainable future through working with our partners, and Churchill Group has shown they share our vision and values that will support our overall aims. We are delighted to have a partner that understands who we are and how we wish to enhance the staff and student experience, and to also walk alongside us as we create and maintain exceptional buildings.”
