Versatility is the key
Cleaning and hygiene requirements are constantly evolving to meet current challenges and the opportunities that lie ahead. Every organisation also wants to present a positive experience that unmistakeably reflects their brand, with products designed to suit their unique needs and style. So, what factors should they be considering when making their purchasing decisions?
Fresh thinking
Look for a company that has a strong research and development programme, with an in-house team of expert designers constantly working on new product development including research, ideas and rapid prototypes. Do they offer a wide choice of versatile and flexible products, designed for every hygiene environment?
Flexible design
Companies are seeking products that are tailored to their needs and that offer reliability and quality. Choose a system which enables parts and accessories to be easily changed, without having to completely replace the system. This reduces cost and avoids unnecessary waste. For example, dosing systems should have a modular design, allowing pumps to be reconfigured after installation.
Should requirements evolve, it allows additional chemicals to be introduced or the number of pumps to be adjusted and the equipment to be repurposed. Dosing systems can stand out further by customising the front cover with your company logo, colours and branding. In fact, a system works best when it is completely tailored to individual customer needs.
Sustainable practices
Maintaining high standards of hygiene and cleanliness is a crucial concern for every facility. However, decision-makers are increasingly showing a keen interest in the manufacturing process of products as well.
When assessing a manufacturer’s sustainable credentials, it’s important to take a whole lifecycle approach. This includes production processes, packaging, transportation,

product use, durability, recycling, and disposal methods. Check for recognised environmental standards and take time to assess whether you’re investing in the right system for your needs.
For example, our on-site recycling centre is one way in which we save valuable resources, by recovering and reprocessing waste plastic material from our production lines. We also invest in energy efficient equipment and processes. Several years ago, we invested in a process that converts waste from our pad printing into chemical-free, non-hazardous waste that can be incinerated to generate energy from waste. We also use low energy LED lighting, energy efficient machinery and a closed-circuit water supply system for cooling our injection moulding machines.
User safety
Systems must be designed to be safe and easy to use. We work in partnership with a range of chemical manufacturers during the development of our products to ensure we meet the needs of the end customers.
Precise chemical dilution is an important issue for the cleaning industry. Chemicals are formulated to clean surfaces at a specified dilution rate, but under or over- dosing can reduce product efficiency and affect the end result. It’s also crucial that the chemical dilution system can be operated safely, for example by being able to adjust the dilution ratio without coming into contact with the chemical.
Cabinets installed on either side of the dilution system are a safe and secure way of controlling access to hazardous chemicals, preventing tampering or accidental activation. This means the system can only be opened by people who have a key and are trained to use it. Coloured rings on the cabinet help indicate which products go where, and aid safe chemical identification.
A lasting experience
Each business will have its own set of unique cleaning and hygiene needs. By making careful product choices, customised to your requirements, and with the environment in mind, you can provide an experience that is positive for both people and planet.
