SPECIALIST CLEANING
Quality specialist cleaning for care homes
Headquartered in the North East of England, NECS is a leading provider of high-quality professional commercial cleaning services across the UK.
Maintaining a high standard of hygiene in care, nursing and residential homes is vital to provide a clean and safe environment. Poor cleanliness can lead to a build-up of dirt, bacteria and dust particles. This can increase the risk of illness and health issues amongst staff and especially residents, who are often elderly, may have ongoing health problems and are more vulnerable.
Hiring a professional commercial cleaning company to clean the premises will keep germs and bacteria at bay and create a safe and clean space for employees, residents and visitors.
In 2019, NECS was approached by Careline Lifestyles, a leading independent provider of high-quality nursing and residential care. Careline Lifestyles supports people with a range of needs from short term care to support a good quality of life, to long term complex care for individuals who require intensive support and rehabilitation. The company had experienced issues with previous cleaning providers not being reliable or providing a consistent high-quality service.
Careline Lifestyles required a professional cleaning company that could provide a thorough and high-quality cleaning service to exceed its expectations. Subsequently, NECS was awarded a contract to provide specialist cleaning services to seven of Careline Lifestyles’ care homes which are based across the North East of England.
Though it has always been important for care homes to be clean and hygienic, the nature of the COVID-19 pandemic put these practices under the spotlight. During this time NECS’s cleaning operatives were tested each time prior to entering the seven care homes to protect the residents and staff. Its cleaning operatives also wore PPE, including gloves, goggles, a mask and a disposable apron, to protect them from risks associated with the environment. Its team has continued to wear PPE when using heavy duty cleaning products for tasks such as cleaning ovens.

a three-month cycle to ensure the kitchens continue to meet the highest standards of cleanliness and hygiene. This includes cleaning kitchen hoods, grease traps, fans and vents; deep cleaning all kitchen equipment, countertops, floors, walls and ceiling; as well as disinfecting the whole kitchen including sinks and countertops.
The cleaning solutions NECS utilised are tested and effective to kill bacteria, mould and fungus and are proven to be effective against the biggest dangers within the food environment such as Salmonella, Campylobacter, Listeria and Yeast.
David Stockdale at Careline Lifestyles Group said: “NECS took over our kitchen deep clean contracts a few years ago and they are excellent at what they do. Real service is about more than just delivering on a contract: it’s about integrity, having a genuine interest in helping your customer and measuring more than just the value of a contract. NECS delivers those things and more, I highly recommend them.”
Gary Breach, Managing Director at NECS, commented: “We understand the importance of hygiene for the safety of employees and residents in healthcare environments. Our team is trained and certified to the highest level with full health and safety training, giving our customers the confidence that they will receive a thorough and high-quality cleaning service.”
