Tennant UK donates to Derian House

Tennant UK has chosen to support Derian House Children’s Hospice as its ‘local’ charity for the company’s North West-based office in Bolton, following a vote from all staff.

In May, Tennant UK made a donation of toys and arts and craft supplies for the children being cared for.

Tennant UK Marketing Manager, Daniel Cross, said: “Unfortunately, Derian House could not accept donations of Easter Eggs due to a lot of their children being unable to consume them due to their dietary requirements, and so the charity asked if instead we could do an Easter-themed craft collection.”

The team at Tennant UK’s office donated an impressive selection of activity books, paints, crayons, colouring sets, soft toys and craft supplies.

Ellie Smith, Community Fundraiser at Derian House, added: “Thank you so much to everyone at Tennant UK who contributed to this collection. We rely on the generosity of our friends within the community – like everyone at Tennant UK – and we are truly thankful and appreciative of their support.”

Daniel concluded: “We look forward to continuing to support Derian House throughout the year, and our team are very passionate about our involvement with a local charity doing such great work.”

Westgrove continues Mind Over Mountains partnership The Westgrove Group is continuing its partnership and founding patronage with the wellbeing and mental health charity, Mind Over Mountains.

The Warrington-based FM company has pledged its support to the charity for 2023, helping people to access the mental health support they need through outdoor experiences, combined with professional coaching and counselling support.

The charity was founded by Alex Staniforth in 2018 with the belief that everyone deserves access to the tools they need to stay mentally and physically well, and a vision that could best be delivered through engagement with the outdoors. Westgrove has continued their role as a founding patron for a second year to provide generous financial assistance, which will enable the charity to support people facing challenging life circumstances.

Claire Mckinley-Smith, Managing Director of The Westgrove Group, said: “We’ve worked with Alex for many years in his role as Mental Health Brand Ambassador for Westgrove. He provides our colleagues with mental health and wellbeing support, and it's a privilege to continue this relationship as founding patron of his charity.

“Looking after our employees’ wellbeing is of paramount importance to us, and we’re pleased to be able to provide our colleagues across the UK with funded places and to help make Mind Over Mountains accessible to all.”

Alex Staniforth added: “We all know how important wellbeing is. As a fledgling charity with big ambitions, I’m so grateful that Westgrove has continued their support and got behind our vision to make a genuine difference in the community – I’m looking forward to seeing this partnership grow even stronger over the year ahead.”

Through the partnership, Westgrove colleagues will benefit from access to Mind Over Mountains’ walks and retreats across the UK, wellbeing resources, group coaching sessions, fundraising events and virtual and physical team challenges throughout the year to support their physical and mental wellbeing at work.
